Comments page problems

Somebody has just alerted me that they were asked to enter an email address of a friend to leave a comment. I don't know why this has happened.

I leave my comments sections open for everyone to leave a message. I don't even use word verification.

If you have had any problems or strange happenings while trying to leave a comment then please let me know on your blogs or send a message to blogger. I'm going to try and sort out what has happened. Sorry for any inconveniance.

A couple of months ago I reserved my own car smack into a tree and remarked something around the same lines: how strange that the back fender should do that!

I couldn't yell at myself, could I? Although I did have a thought or two about stupidity, my own that is. Then I saw a woman sitting in a car right behind me who watched the whole thing.

When she saw me looking at her she said: I thought of alerting you, but that might have caused you to hit the brakes. Exactly. That would have been fine.

Think about how many times we can help someone else avert a problem, and we don't because we feel we'd meddle.

Works fine for me.

Me too! I don't use that word thing. I personally think that it's a nuisance. And for automated sign ups? Bring it on!!

Thank you Rose and Justin! I was a little worried that I had been hacked or something!

Valeria: Thank you for posting! It's true that we all do stupid things--the difference is that we feel bad when we do something like that, the stupid people don't see that they've done something wrong.

As for the person who watched but didn't help--how can people be so timid? Maybe people are frightened of meddling, even when it's to the good, because they fear their good intentions will be misunderstood.

Hi Richie,

I believe what happened is that the person in question clicked on the EMAIL POST instead of COMMENT icon. When you choose to EMAIL THE POST then the page asks you for a friends email addy etc.

; )
